Commonly referred to as the marine capital  of Bulgaria, Varna is a major tourist destination, seaport, and headquarter of the Bulgarian Navy and merchant marine. Varna is among Europe's oldest cities.  Varna is the second most important economic centre for Bulgaria after Sofia and one of the major hubs for the Black Sea region.
